Determinants of behavioral intention to accept electronic voting system in Nigeria

Abstract

The study examines the behavioral factors that influence voters' intentions to use electronic voting among senior secondary school teachers in Bauchi state. The research design for the study was a cross-sectional survey with a population of 5050 and a sample size of 384, the study included all of the senior secondary school teachers employed by the government of Bauchi State. Out of the 384 questionnaires distributed, 371 were completed and returned which represents 96.6% response rate. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with aid of SPSS version 26. The findings of the study indicated a substantial association between the two dimensions and voters' behavioral intentions to use in electronic voting system in Bauchi State. It was recommended that future researchers should expand the population to cover other categories of voters other than teachers.
