Mediating Role of Intrinsic Motivation on the Relationship between Human Resource Flexibility and Organizational Citizenship Behavior: A Conceptual Framework

Organizational Citizenship Behavior is one of the most important attributes which organizations ensure its core employees practiced. The objective of this study is to propose a conceptual framework to explain the relationship between Human Resource Flexibility and Organizational Citizenship Behavior through the mediating role of intrinsic motivation in manufacturing sector of Kano State, Nigeria. This study reviews relevant literature on the key concepts in the study namely; human resource flexibility, organizational citizenship behavior and intrinsic motivation. Based on the literature reviewed, a potential mediation of intrinsic
motivation on the relationship between human resource flexibility and organizational citizenship behavior was found. Accordingly, the paper recommends that future studies should consider carrying out an empirical investigation on effect of human resource
flexibility on organizational citizenship behavior through the mediating role of intrinsic motivation.
